Magnetics

We make the pod float and move - controllable electromagnets for levitation, a linear induction motor for thrust, and passive guidance for stability.

Frictionless.
Contactless. Fast.

The Magnetics subteam tackles levitation, propulsion, and guidance. We tune levitation with transformer-based electromagnets and control loops so the pod rides smoothly above the track.

Propulsion comes from a linear induction motor that creates a moving magnetic field to push and pull against the aluminum I-beam. We validate designs with force tests, saturation studies, and guidance stability experiments.
